When around 1995 Grazzhoppa & Afterhours mixtapes came to his ears , a serious bug infected dj Courtasocks brain and he started to buy his first records and slowly gathering a set-up to scratch that terrible itch he was suddenly suffering from . Together with tallented friends he formed the Cloud 9 collective whom started doing Hip-Hop shows in close collaboraton with their Fab Fudge friends.In 2002 he was runnner up in the Benelux DMC battle . To fullfill his growing funkey needs Courtasock in 2002 started jammin' with the instrumental funkband 'Muzzle' then renamed 'The lightning Brothers' and in 2004 they recorded the ' Funk Explorer' E.P.Lateron the Muzzle dudes got integrated into the Jazzalude project ,a 13 piece band playing funk and soul gems ,releasing one mini E.P. called ‘T-Wood SoulStew’. It was in 2004 that Courtasock was part of the 6 dj expansion of Grazz' DJBigband.In 2009 they toured with their third creation,the 'Around the world in 80 beats' -tour.Also the DVD of theDJGrazzhoppa’sdjbigband VS Aka Moon was put out recently. The Are currently creating the 4th DJBigband project ,wich will be available in November 2010 . Be on the lookout for a hardhitting show !!! In 2006 the 'Beatdrunx' project came to life in the form of an E.P. and an album produced by the One Cell Parasite ,the rhymes delivered by Rub and Acrid Cast and the turntable interventions operated by Courtasock. Their second album 'Moment of Clarity ' is in stores now . Dj Courtasock played a host of venues throughout the entire country occasionally teaming up with dj's on various styles like hip-hop,funk,reggae,latinbossagroove,jazz,breakbeat and a wholelot of weirdness. He opened up , or did afterparties for acts like : GZA,Roots Manuva, SouljazzSoundsystem,The Bamboos,The Skatalites,Moon Invaders,Odemba Ok Jazz All Stars,Malick Pathe Sow,Lefties Soul Connection,Rythm Junks,Opposites,Kleine Jay&Cartes,Carne Cruda,Odyssee & Kev Brown,Kraak&Smaak,Stijn,Senor Coconut,Mo&Grazz,Soulstice,IAM,James Kerry,Aggrolites,Arsenal,Dave Holland,Mos Def... He's also constantly jammin' with people and working on several projects . One of them is the cut-up project 'Language is a virus' , an experimental mix of beatpoetscratching and JazzSaxin'with Nicolas Kummert . Thru a stint at the Cameleon Festival he got involved with Campina Reggae a Belgian reggae band and is now vibin' along with Veston and the gang.They released the debut-album 'Vet en Verstaanbaar' on the Super!-label in april 2008 and are recording the follow-up album at the moment. Release expected october/november 2010. For those who want to learn the craft of scratching , beatjuggling and more turntabletricks , Courtasock is now teaching @ the dj-school ACADEMIX based in Geel.
